Radamel Falcao Reminds Me Of Chelsea Flops, Claims Sky Sports Pundit

Radamel Falcao is struggling to live up to his reputation this season..

Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Radamel Falcao reminds him of former Chelsea duo Fernando Torres and Andriy Shevchenko in that way that they failed to live up to their reputation on the football pitch.

Falcao has struggled to make the desired impact at Old Trafford following his exciting deadline day arrival, with injuries and sporadic starts in the first team hindering his progress.

The Colombian was renowned as the most fearsome centre forward in the game before he arrived at Old Trafford and his record translated exactly that, but Redknap believes that just like Torres and Shevchenko, they have somehow failed to deliver.

“I still believe he is a great player and you don’t want to see him struggle,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

“It reminds me of Fernando Torres and Andriy Shevchenko’s stints at Chelsea.

“He doesn’t look like he’s enjoying his football and he doesn’t look like he’s a fan of the manager. Van Gaal might be better off not playing him. Falcao made a terrible footballing decision to go to Monaco, then was unlucky with his cruciate injury.”

As he’s only on a season-long loan at the club, it is difficult to see Falcao remaining at Old Trafford beyond this season, especially with the financial package it would take to make his move a permanent one.
