Can Arsenal or Manchester United beat Juventus to Paulo Dybala next summer…

Palermo owner and chairman Maurizio Zamparini has revealed that he would allow Paulo Dybala to leave the club in the next transfer window, should any of the interested parties – most notably Juventus – meet his asking price.

Zamparini, who was quoted by the Daily Mirror, would likely demand around £25m for the 21-year-old Argentine striker, who has scored 11 times and made six assists so far this season.

“There has not been any contact with Napoli but it is true that Marotta has been in touch for Juventus,” he said. “He told me that Juventus will be right there if we decide to sell Dybala. They are very much interested in signing him and are ready to open talks.

“I told him that I would be more than happy to sell Paulo to Juventus if possible. I would actually prefer for him to stay in Italy. I know Marotta, though, so I immediately made it clear that I will not give him a discount. We all know what happened with Pastore.”

Arsenal and United both watched Dybala last weekend and it is thought that he is eager to move on later this year.

However, in further quotes attributed to Zamparini by Italian website Tutto Mercato, it was suggested that Liverpool was the most likely destination – on a free transfer in 2016.

The only words from the player himself were back in December, when Dybala spoke out about Arsenal’s alleged interest.

“To know that someone like that thinks highly of me fills me with pride,” said Dybala to the Express.

“I can’t deny that going to Arsenal and playing in the Premier League would be great, but at the moment I’m a Palermo player.”
