The 24-year-old joined the Blues from Lille in 2012 and has since scored 44 goals in 146 appearances for the club. In that time the Belgian has won the Chelsea Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year awards, while he’s twice been voted into the PFA Team of the Year.

Hazard has reportedly been in talks with the club over an extension to his current deal since June, but when asked why negotiations were taking so long, Mourinho came up with a brilliant response.

“I am buying a nice pen,” joked the Portuguese, who was quoted by Goal.com ahead of his club’s meeting with Everton at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.

“I need a bit of time to go to Sloane Street and buy a proper pen. I just need time to buy the pen and after that I think there is not a long time to go!”
