Sam Allardyce: No Coach More Sophisticated Than Me Says West Ham Boss

Could Big Sam be eyeing Inter or Real again?

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has comically heaped praise on himself after making a thrilling start to the season with the Hammers, who sit eighth in the Premier League, just eight points off a Champions League spot.

Allardyce has come under heavy scrutiny since taking over the managerial reigns at Upton Park – this time last year he faced criticism over tactics and poor results, and the club fought relegation for most of the campaign.

However, after coming tantalisingly close to taking all three points off Premier League giants Manchester United at the weekend, the former Bolton Wanderers boss claims he is the most sophisticated coach in England, even if he does say so himself.

“I don’t think there is any coach more sophisticated than me any more,” the 60-year-old was quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

“That’s not trying to criticise any other coaches.

“But there is only Arsene Wenger who has done it longer than me. I’m just as good as everybody at this stage.”

Back in 2010, as Blackburn manager, Big Sam hilariously made the claim that he would be “more suited to Inter Milan or Real Madrid” and that he would ‘win the double or the league every time’.

The Premier League legend certainly doesn’t mind indulging in some self-praise!
