Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard is having a scan today on the hamstring problem which saw him limp out of Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

The 34-year-old midfielder, who will leave the Reds to join LA Galaxy this summer, lasted just 68 minutes against Spurs.

“Unfortunately, he felt his hamstring just towards the end of the game,” assistant manager Colin Pascoe is quoted as telling the club’s official website.

“He’s having a scan this morning and we’re just waiting for the results to come back on that one.”

Gerrard has featured in 22 Premier League games this season, scoring six goals and making one assist.

Liverpool’s next match is on Saturday when they travel to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.

The Reds then host Turkish side Besiktas in the first leg of a Europa League tie on Thursday February 19.
