The winger has found himself playing at full-back this season as manager Louis van Gaal has had to deal with an injury crisis. Although he hasn’t been known for his defensive nous in the past, the 29-year-old has performed admirably in the new role.
He said when asked about his versatility, “I like the variation actually. I think there are a lot of players who just like to stick to one position, but for me I don’t mind as long as I’m in the team.”
Young hasn’t played for England since 2013, but if he continues to impress for the Red Devils there is a chance that he could be considered for the next squad by Roy Hodgson.
