Daniel Sturridge thinks that Brendan Rodgers can lead the Anfield club to cup glory…
Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge believes that the Reds are in a great position to win the FA Cup, reports the Daily Star.
Liverpool are in the fifth round of the competition, and playing against Crystal Palace on Saturday. With both Chelsea and Manchester City already knocked out in earlier rounds it means that the Merseyside club have a genuine chance at the trophy.
Much has been made of how the final falls on captain Steven Gerrard’s birthday. If they were to win the cup it would be a great send off for the legend in his final season with the Reds.
“There’s still Arsenal, [Manchester] United and it’s cup football, it’s one game so anyone can progress. I wouldn’t like to disregard anyone,” Sturridge said. “We play some great football and I believe in the philosophy the manager has. Everyone else does and we know on any day if we play the football we can, we are unstoppable. We have no doubts about what we can do.”
The England international has recently returned to the side following a series of injuries that had kept him on the sidelines since August. He has already improved the team, scoring in his first game back.
