The 30 year old playmaker has been in fine form in recent months but appears keen on a return to his native Spain having left for north Malaga for North London back in August 2012.
Cazorla is into the final 18 months of his current Gunners contract but is no doubt a player Arsene Wenger would seek to retain long into the future.
Talk of a move to the Vicente Calderon appears to be fairly advanced with this source claiming that Cazorla has provisionally agreed a deal to join Diego Simeone’s side this summer.
Cazorla has scored 26 goals in 129 appearances since his £15m move to Arsenal and has proven a pivotal member of Wenger’s attack over the course of the past two and a half seasons.
The Arsenal fan favourite may well see a move to Atletico as an ideal one to make, not least as it secures a move back to Spain, but also as Simeone’s side are genuine title challengers.
