Veteran Brazilian Forward Set For West Ham Medical

West Ham are short of options up front..

Brazilian striker Nene has flown into London to undergo his West Ham medical as the club aims to soften the blow handed to them with Andy Carroll set to miss the rest of the season, according to the Evening Standard.

The Hammers confirmed last week that the England striker would miss the remainder of the season following knee surgery and Sam Allardyce has looked to swiftly add another striker to his squad.

Nene is currently a free agent after he left Qatari club Al Ghafra last month, who he joined from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain in 2013.

The news of Carroll’s injury comes as an even more significant blow for West Ham considering their efforts and how close they were to landing Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor in the last window.

Daniel Levy eventually pulled the plug on the deal in the 11th hour and the subsequent fallout was made public.

According the report however, Nene will undergo intense physical examination before any deal is concluded.
