WWE wrestler Wade ‘Bad News’ Barrett has bizarrely challenged Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to a match at Wrestlemania in six weeks time, following a light-hearted social media row.

Barrett accused Rooney of diving during United’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Preston North End on Monday evening. The Red Devils’ skipper took the tumble in the final minutes of the match, and promptly dispatched the penalty himself to seal the victory.
Rooney replied and threatened to get ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin out of retirement to help him. Preston star Kevin Davies was then invited into a tag team match, and the former England man duly accepted.
