Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli annoyed at media reaction to taking the penalty that defeated Besiktas after a row with Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool earned a hard-fought 1-0 home victory over Besiktas in the UEFA Europa League last 32 this evening, but the winning goal from the penalty spot was somewhat overshadowed by the fact that Mario Balotelli took the ball from designated taker Jordan Henderson.
Although the vice-captain seemed to hand Balotelli the ball without too much fuss, Daniel Sturridge appeared particularly furious, and Steven Gerrard was clearly fuming afterwards in his role as a pundit for the game for ITV Sport.
However, Balotelli was keen to play down the situation, but couldn’t hide his annoyance at the “drama” the incident had sparked in the media.
He posted the below to social network Instagram:
And .. Thank all of you supporters . Thanks with all my heart. You are great. Now let’s think about sunday match????
