The 24 year old Argentine international has played a key role in helping his side to the top of the Primeira Liga table and is open to a move to the Premier League, with a move to Spurs apparently the favoured option for the former Atletico Madrid man.

One imagines that a Champions League berth could be key to swaying Salvio’s decision making process, with Pochettino’s side currently sitting in seventh with Liverpool one point ahead in sixth spot with both sides still competing in the Europa League.

Pochettino elected to loan out Aaron Lennon whilst Erik Lamela has blown hot and cold this term so one can see why the Argentine boss may be on the look out for a fresh wide-attacker.

Salvio left the Vicente Calderon for Lisbon back in 2012 and a high-profile move to the Premier League could help secure a return to the national team set-up.
