Brazilian side Corinthians are closing in on a deal to sell their stadium naming rights to Emirates, meaning both they the London club would both play in a ground named after the Asian airline.

The ‘Arena Corinthians’ has been home to the Brazilian side since 2011, and the club have always planned to sell its naming rights.

As part of the the multi year deal, the club have agreed to participate in a series of friendly games in Saudi Arabia and have also promised to open a number of youth academies in the region.

“This negotiation has been going on for over a year. Hopefully, now, Corinthians and Emirates will finalise this historic partnership in Brazilian football. It a win-win situation,” said an insider close to the club.
