Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony Ready To Heap Pressure On Barcelona

City’s new striker can’t wait to get started in the Champions League. 

Manchester City’s new striker Wilfried Bony is raring to go ahead of his first taste of Champions League action.

He believes that he can be the difference in City’s huge last 16 tie with Spanish giants Barcelona on Tuesday night, if called upon.

The former Swansea City star, who scored 25 goals for in 43 appearances for the Welsh side, believes he is capable of creating havoc for Barca defenders Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano.

“Yes, I can. I hope so. Barcelona will be very tough,” Bony was quoted by The Sun.

“But it’s up to the coach. I will work hard and try to be ready for any time the coach needs me.”

The 26-year-old made the switch from Swansea to Pellegrini’s side last month in a whopping £28m move. He cited Champions League as the deciding factor in the Premier League’s blockbuster transfer.

“I’m here to play in the Champions League. This is why I decided to take City’s interest in me seriously,” he continued.

“I always said if I moved it would be to a club in that competition.”

“It’s something I really want to play in — and win.”
