Spurs are way ahead with late goalscoring…

Tottenham Hotspur have rescued 13 points in the last five minutes of games with late goals this season – more than any other team.

Arsenal have the second best record late on, having earned six points in the latter stages of games.

In a far cry from the Fergie time days, Manchester United have only saved three points from 85 minutes onwards in matches, a telling stat from the side which has struggled to recapture the form shown under the Scot since he left.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side once again left it late this weekend, coming from two goals down to level in in the 96th minute with Harry Kane’s penalty rebound.

It is testament to Spurs’ ‘never say die’ attitude that they currently sit seventh in the Premier League whereas had they not collected these late points, they would be 12th.

Along with Louis van Gaal’s men and Manchester City, the north London club are also the only team not to have dropped any points by conceding late on.

At the other end of the spectrum, Hull City are the worst offenders of conceding late goals and would be 11th if they tightened up late on.
