Waiting for a free-kick to be delivered in the opposition box, Blackett seems to become irritated at something said by Sunderland’s Martin Smith.
The 20 year then moves towards Smith before shoving him violently in the face.
Whilst it was a youth match, Blackett could still receive a charge for violent conduct from the FA but it is as yet unclear if they will get involved.
It’s not immediately clear what incensed the young defender in a match that saw another youngster, James Wilson, forced off with injury.
Both incidents could have serious repercussions on the United first team if injuries continue to take their toll.
