The Portuguese star has previously released underwear and shirts under his fashion label, but his sponsors appear to have taken more offence with this latest move.

It is unknown whether they will ask him to withdraw his other clothing ranges.

The former Manchester United star gets paid €9 million a year by the sportswear company, and so unsurprisingly decided to accept their demands.

One imagines this incident will lead to the 30-year-old thinking again before he releases a new fashion line without prior approval from Nike.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping that Ronaldo isn’t distracted by the issue when his side play Villarreal on Sunday.
