The forward, who is being targeted by Liverpool, is subject of a buy-back clause that gives the Spanish giants first right of refusal. Depite that clause, Ancelotti believes the player will remain at Juventus.
“He needed to play. He’s a young boy who was looking for more opportunities and consistency. He had a lot of offers, he’s the one who chose Juve” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He’s a modern striker, he has pace, rhythm and intensity, he’s cool in front of goal and is a hard worker,” he said.
“In Morata’s contract there’s a right of redemption [for us], but I think he’ll stay at Juventus.”
The youngster impressed in Juventus’ win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday and it was thought that could have spiked Madrid’s interest.
