The winger scored the second goal as Fiorentina knocked Tottenham out of the Europa League…

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella has hinted that he believes Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is as good as Juan Cuadrado, who recently departed La Viola to Chelsea in a £27 million move, with Salah heading the other way, reports MailSport.

After pocketing the huge sum of money which Chelsea paid for Colombian winger Cuadrado, and benefiting from the performances of Blues outcast Salah, Montella believes that the transition of coping without their star man has been smooth.

The on-loan Egyptian scored Fiorentina’s second to help the Italians knock Tottenham out of the Europa League with a 2-0 home win and after the game, Montella said, “Who did better out of the Cuadrado exchange? Fiorentina earned a lot of money and, on the pitch, they are similar players.”

“Salah is a player that, even if he takes some breaks, is devastating over 40 or 50 yards.”

In Serie A, Montella’s side are currently fifth with 39 points, six points behind third-placed Napoli, who occupy the final Champions League spot, and will look to close the gap starting this weekend as they take on underachieving Inter Milan at the San Siro.
