The Portuguese boss has overseen Champions League wins and successful league title campaigns, but his current run is his worst ever. Sunday’s game also offers the Blues the chance to avenge their 5-3 defeat to Spurs earlier this season.

Mourinho, who was quoted by the Daily Mirror, said: “This cup final is the most important cup final of my career. More important than the Champions League. More important than the other cups I’ve played before.

“Do I look stupid? It’s because it’s the next one. The next one. I just think about this game. We have a final to win on Sunday and nothing else matters.”

Meanwhile, Mourinho added that he’s not even sure of where many of his previous winning medals are kept: “My medals are somewhere at home,” he said. “I don’t know where they are. The most important game of my career is the next one.”
