Kroenke, son of another major shareholder Stan, is stepping up his influence at the Emirates Stadium and has grown impatient with a lack of success under the current boss.

Arsenal’s defeat to AS Monaco this week all but puts them out of this season’s Champions League, while Henry has been back at the club in a coaching role, revealing himself that he has ambitions to manager the Gunners one day.

The recently-retired Frenchman is inexperienced, however, and both assistant Steve Bould and Ajax manager Frank de Boer are also being considered to replace Wenger.
