The striker will be playing in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday afternoon at Wembley…
Tottenham legend Ledley King has backed current star Harry Kane to impress against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, reports the Sun.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at White Hart Lane, and has already bagged 24 goals in the campaign.
He has been one of Mauricio Pochettino’s best players since the Argentine took over at the North London club, alongside fellow youngsters Nabil Bentaleb and Christian Eriksen.
King is a former Spurs skipper, and made over 300 appearances for the side, and this despite his career being blighted by injuries.
He said: “When Kane’s on song, everyone follows suit. The final is a big platform for him to show his stuff against top quality opposition and it’s a big game for him. He’s confident at the moment and will be loving it. When you’re confident, you take each game in your stride.”
King continued: “He’s been exceptional. For a young player to come in and score the amount of goals he has, I don’t think anyone could have seen that happening. He’s scored goals at every level, but to make that step up so quickly and score that many for the first team, it has to have surprised quite a few people.”
The former England international concluded: “It’s been great and hopefully he can continue now until the end of the season. I’m really looking forward to see how he does against that Chelsea backline.”
Kane scored twice in Tottenham’s 5-3 win over the Blues on New Year’s Day earlier this season.
