The Colombian has played in the last seven Premier League matches since Wojciech Szczesny made several errors against Southampton on New Year’s Day. However, he does not think he has completely beaten the Pole and Emiliano Martinez to the number one jersey just yet.

“Here you are fighting in every training session,” said the 26-year-old.

“Arsenal has some great goalkeepers and that’s what’s important. The manager takes the decision, but everyone does their own job, the competition is healthy and I hope to continue making the most of the opportunity I’ve been given.”

The Gunners play QPR in the Premier League on Wednesday, and the 26-year-old is likely to continue between the sticks for the match at Loftus Road.

It will be interesting to see if Ospina plays against Manchester United in the FA Cup on Monday. Szczesny started in the last round against Middlesbrough, but manager Arsene Wenger may want to pick the man who is in better form for the match against the Red Devils.
