Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid have been added to Man City’s shortlist along with Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, according to the Daily Star.

The trio have been earmarked by club owner Sheikh Mansour after Man City lost to Liverpool in the Premier League and FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League within the space of a week.

Barca are now clear favourites to progress in Europe, while Pellegrini’s men also face a fight to hold onto second place in the English top flight. Chelsea look comfortable favourites for the title, but Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are gaining ground on City in the race for second place, and a top four place is far from certain.

With Pellegrini’s goals of defending the Premier League trophy and making an impact in the Champions League both looking in serious doubt, he will be fighting for his job until the remainder of the season.
