The Brazilian international is seemingly edging closer to an Old Trafford move with Louis van Gaal keen to improve on his right-back options.
The former Santos man has a massive £37m release clause though the Premier League side will look to land the Primeira Liga star for a lot less.
Currently van Gaal has the likes of Rafael and Luis Antonio Valencia as his right-back options and Danilo is arguably a significant step up in quality in that department.
The 23 year old helped FC Porto to domestic titles in his first two campaigns but has since the Estádio do Dragão fall behind arch rivals Benfica and this may only hasten his departure.
Louis van Gaal spent over £150m on new players last summer and if he successfully secures a return to the Champions League picture then one imagines the Dutch manager will be handed further funds to strengthen his Man United squad.
