Liverpool Predicted XI Vs Burnley: Sturridge To Return, Man City Hero Coutinho To Keep Place

The Reds are likely to be full of confidence following their brilliant win over Manchester City…

Liverpool take on struggling Burnley at Anfield in what should be a more difficult account than billed with both sides scrapping at different ends of the table. Daniel Sturridge is likely to make a return to the side as he tries to retain full fitness following terrible luck with injuries, while Philippe Coutinho, goalscorer of the winner against Manchester City, is the first name on the teamsheet.

GK – Simon Mignolet

Showed great character to recover after a shocking start to the season. Mignolet has kept 10 clean sheets this campaign and been excellent in recent games.

DRC – Emre Can

Since arriving in summer, Can has gone on to fulfil both the holding midfielder role and in defence to an extremely high standard. Rarely wastes a ball and tough tackling, if he keeps his form up Liverpool won’t be far off the top four at the end of the season.

DLC – Dejan Lovren

Has had a poor season considering how good he was for Southampton last year. Responded to his Besiktas penalty heartbreak fairly well during the Manchester City game and with Sakho unlikely to be fit to start he should retain his place.

DC – Martin Skrtel

A shoe-in for Liverpool, has been one of Rodgers’ first choice defenders all season and barring and late injuries he will definitely play in what is a hugely important fixture for the Reds.
