Atletico to make a stunning swoop ahead of the Premier League giants.
Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani has held talks with Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone regarding a summer move to the La Liga outfit, French newspaper L’Equipe reports.
The striker has long been mooted with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Arsenal keen.
Simeone, however, is reportedly a great admirer of the Uruguayan and is ready to swoop in after being put in touch with the forward by Atletico defender Diego Godin, who is also an international team-mate of Cavani’s.
The former Serie A star has 17 goals in all competitions for PSG so far this term, but has suffered criticism since arriving in the French capital, and is largely played out of position on the wing, which could be swaying the 28-year-old towards a move away from the club.
The Ligue 1 champions are also open to the idea of selling the forward to meet Financial Fair Play regulations.
