Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Real Madrid star, as his stats continue to fall…

It’s not been a great start to 2015 for the world’s most expensive footballer. Manchester United transfer target Gareth Bale has twice been jeered by Real Madrid fans for his performances, and there’s still no signs of improvement.

Reports in the Daily Mail have uncovered stats that seemingly prove he has been shooting significantly less in recent weeks, emphasising a lack of confidence, while the Welsh international is also without a goal in any of his last seven matches.

Bale was booed by his own supporters twice in January, against Espanyol and Real Sociedad, and has seemingly struggled to recover. Since the second incident, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has shot every 37.5 minutes, rather than the 22.9 minutes he averaged previously.

Against Espanyol, with Madrid already leading 3-0, Bale was criticised for not passing to Cristiano Ronaldo when the pair were through on goal. During the defeat to Sociedad, Bale jumped in front of James Rodriguez to latch on to a Karim Benzema pass, only to screw his shot wide.
