Louis van Gaal was once again lucky in the way that the Red Devils won the match…
Manchester United once again got lucky, as they sneaked to victory against Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Had the referee been having a better game then the Red Devils could have fallen out of the top four.
Louis van Gaal has been getting these results all season, and if they continue then United could stumble into next year’s Champions League, this despite looking far worse on the eye than Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool.
Some Magpies fans may be blaming goalkeeper Tim Krul for his massive error, which led to the only goal of the match, but the referee should take some of the blame as well.
Emmanuel Riviere should have had a penalty in the first half, and there was also a foul in the build up to the first goal that wasn’t given. If either of these decisions had gone the way of John Carver’s side then the end result would have likely been very different.
Judge for yourself on the penalty below…
