River Plate will play at home against Mexican side Tigres on Thursday.
River Plate will play their first home of the 2015 Copa Libertadores when they welcome Tigres UANL to El Monumental for a Group 6 game.
The Argentines will seek to recover after the unexpected defeat against San Jose last time out, in game in which the team took Viagra in an attempt to combat the altitude in Bolivia.
Reports there suggest they are expecting a ‘South American’ Tigres, as the Mexican side travel to Buenos Aires with seven South American players amongst their ranks. There are three Argentinians; Nahuel Guzman, Damian Alvarez and Guido Pizarro, the Uruguayan Egidio Arevalo, the Colombian Hernan Burbano, the Ecuadorian Joffre Guerron and the Brazilian Rafael Sobis.
Tigres and San Jose share the lead of Group 6 with three points after one game, while River Plate and the Peruvians Juan Aurich are stuck on zero.
Damian Alvarez, now a Mexican citizen, played for River Plate twice, firstly from 1997 to 2000, and then again in 2002.
