Le TFC have come under scrutiny recent as a poor season shows little sign of improvement. The Occitanie club are enduring a disastrous season and after 27 matches sit in the relegation zone.

They have picked up only 29 points, winning only eight matches and remain two points adrift of safety.

Despite their precarious situation, the club have moved to refute rumours that manager Alain Casanova is on the brink of being dismissed.

”Following recent articles appearing in the press these last few days,” a communique on the club website reads, ”Olivier Sadran has to firmly refute all rumours surrounding the arrival of a new coach for the senior side.

”The president of TFC reminds that he maintains all confidence in Alain Casanova.”

Casanova, who played for Toulouse following spells at Marseille and Le Harve, took over as TFC manager in 2008. During his seven years at the helm he has regularly kept the south-west club in a safe mid-table position, but the club have sold many of their key players during this period.

While the likes of Etienne Capoue, Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko have departed, the club have not replaced them with players of similar quality and are now paying the consequences.

Casanova will have the opportunity to repay the faith shown in him by Casanova when his side entertain Marseille at the Stade Municipal on Friday evening.
