Chiapas have been fined by the Mexican Football Federation (Femexfut).

Chiapas have been fined after heavily criticising a referee via Twitter.

The club was fined approximately £60,000 GBP after comments about referee Paul Delgadillo following their recent match against Club Leon.

Remarkably, the owner of the club, Carlos Hugo Lopez Chargoy, claimed their Twitter account had been hacked and that the attacks were nothing to do with the club.

Unsurprisingly, the disciplinary commission didn’t believe him and decided to sanction the club.
