Diego Simeone’s side have recently emerged as strong contenders to sign another Arsenal target, Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, which could mean Mandzukic is allowed to leave.
According to the Metro, Arsenal would be the prime candidates to snap up the former Bayern Munich man, though Manchester City have also been linked with him in recent times.
Mandzukic has impressed in La Liga, scoring 20 goals in 32 games, but may not have done enough to persuade Atletico against signing another striker for next season.
