The Brazilian left the London club in the summer for £50 million and it seems that he is still smarting from being rejected by the 53-year-old. Since his departure the Blues have gone from strength to strength, winning the Capital One Cup and building a solid lead at the top of the Premier League.

Luiz said of Mourinho: “He is special for you, not for me. I had some great moments at Chelsea and won a lot of titles. I was very happy. They are having a great season, defend well and have great players but above all I know my team. We will try to score there and play like we know how.”

He added: “We will have a good game plan and implement it the best way possible to achieve a great performance. Both can still qualify.”

The centre-back will be hoping his side are able to break down what has been a stubborn Chelsea defence on Wednesday. The Parisians needing to score at least once in order to go through to the next round of the competition after drawing 1-1 at the Parc des Princes in the first leg.
