Sancho is expected to cost Manuel Pellegrini’s side an initial £66,000, however that fee could rise up to £500,000, depending on appearances. The deal also includes a 10% sell on clause for the England under-15 international.

The 14-year-old is already being touted as a star of the future as in addition to his Three Lions experience, and the bidding war between City and Liverpool, he already has a sponsorship deal in place with Nike.

Sancho will be looking to emulate the likes of John Barnes and, more recently, Ashley Young, as well as many others, who began their careers with the London club, before moving on to a higher level.

The deal represents City’s attempt at a different transfer policy, as they attempt to bolster their academy, having unveiled their new state of the art facilities earlier in the season.
