46% Of Real Madrid Fans Would Drop Gareth Bale With 32% Also Doubting Cristiano Ronaldo

Real’s ‘BBC’ strike force of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo have struggled of late in La Liga and the team has failed to score a goal from open play in the last two games.

World record signing Gareth Bale, who 46% of Los Blancos fans said they would drop in a formation change, is without a goal in his last eight games and has been jeered from the stands at the Bernabeu more than once.

Ancelotti gave support to his under fire strikers, quoted by BBC Sport saying, “They have scored less in the last games but I think that we have to help the strikers.

“We won’t change our identity because that is how we feel most comfortable,” the Italian added. “Without doubt I have confidence in them. There has been a general dip from the team, not just them.

“I would have to drop Karim because he hasn’t scored in a few games. I would have to drop Cristiano. I don’t think Bale is happy with how he is playing but he understands that he has to improve.”

Real Madrid play Schalke in their Champions League last-16 second leg, holding a 2-0 lead from Gelsenkirchen, and Luka Modric returns to the first team for the first time since November after a torn thigh muscle.
