Angel di Maria has been called up to the Argentine squad.
Angel di Maria, who was sent off in farcical circumstances last night against Arsenal, has been named in Gerardo Martino’s latest Argentina squad for the games later this month against El Salvador and Ecuador.
Surprisingly, two of the most in-form Serie A strikers have not been called, with Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi and Palermo’s Paulo Dybala failing to make the cut.
The squad in full is:
Guzman (Tigres UANL), Romero (Sampdoria), Rulli (Real Sociedad), Garay (Zenit St Petersburg), Zabaleta (Manchester City), Rojo (Manchester United), Roncaglia (Genoa), Musacchio (Villarreal), Orban (Valencia), Otamendi (Valencia), Pastore (Paris Saint-Germain), Di Maria (Manchester United), Biglia (Lazio), Pereyra (Juventus), Banega (Sevilla), Perez (Valencia), Mascherano (Barcelona), Lavezzi (Paris Saint-Germain), Aguero (Manchester City), Higuain (Napoli), Tevez (Juventus), Messi (Barcelona)
