Scholes has been hugely critical of Arsene Wenger’s side since trying his hand at punditry, and recently had a few issues with World Cup winner Özil.

He was nothing but complimentary about the Arsenal star after their clash with Manchester United though, and claimed he would love to have played with him if he consistently performed that way.

“I found myself agreeing with Arsène Wenger on Monday night,” he said.

“The Arsenal manager said last Friday that I would have loved to have played alongside Mesut Özil – and that would be right, as long as Özil played every week as well as he did at Old Trafford.”

The 26-year-old has been in superb form since returning from injury this season, and finally looks like finding the form he showed while at Real Madrid.
