MailSport reports how Madrid newspaper Marca labelled the situation ‘Florentino’s war’ after they published that Ancelotti would be sacked should his side lose against Barcelona in El Clasico next week, while they now state ‘Perez contradicts’ this.

Perez launched a scathing attack on the press’ false headlines and said, “I want to state categorically that the club has full confidence in our coach and in our players.

“And I want to say, contrary to a report published today, that whatever happens in the coming days and weeks Carlo Ancelotti will remain the coach of Real Madrid.

“To use the fact that we are not on our best form at the moment to report information that is not true is unacceptable.”

AS also quote Perez saying, “I understand that some media want to have an influence, but they are going too far.”

Real Madrid currently sit second in La Liga, one point behind leaders Barcelona, and are without a league win in two games ahead of Sunday’s game against Levante at the Bernabeu.
