The Gunners crashed out of Europe on Tuesday night on the away goals rule after winning 2-0 in  France, but could not score the vital third to complete a memorable comeback.

There was cause for optimism of reaching the quarter-finals after drew the Ligue 1 outfit but following a horror show in the first leg, this is now the fifth season in a row in which the North London side have crashed out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.

But Ramsey, who came off the bench to score Arsenal’s second of the night in the Stade Louis II stadium, believes they can still have a successful season domestically:

“We will take some positives from it.” The Welshman told The Express.

“And we still have the FA Cup and I’m sure there will be more twists and turns in the Premier League.” he added

Arsenal currently sit third in the Premier League, seven points off leaders Chelsea and face Championship side Reading in the FA Cup semi-final next month.
