Brendan Rodgers came so close last season to guiding Liverpool to their first Premier League title, but was unable to see them across the line. Here is an eleven that may just bring the glory back to Merseyside:
The keeper has been impressive with Fiorentina this season in Serie A, and has been linked with a move to Anfield. He may just offer the reliability at the back that Simon Mignolet doesn’t.
CB- Emre Can
Can has done well in his first season, and seems to have adapted quickly to playing as part of a back three. At just 21, he could still get better.
CB- Martin Skrtel
The Slovakian will be reaching the twilight of his career by 2016/17, but that experience will be vital as the pressure of a title push takes hold.
CB- Raphael Varane
The Real Madrid centre-back may be the perfect addition to complete the back three. He seems less than happy in Spain, and is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League. But it would require a large fee to sign the French international.
