Neither of the two mid-table sides have much at stake in the league-excluding the feint threat of a relegation battle-but will give everything in this contest looking to earn bragging rights over their local rivals.

Nantes come into this fixture having won two of their last three and after beating Evian Thonon Gaillard 2-1 at home last weekend.

Canaries boss Der Zakarian has outlined the various reasons why his side will be doing everything possible to secure victory at the Stade de la Route de Lorient in front of their rivals’ fans on Saturday.

“I leave wearing the skin of a team who wants to go to Rennes to win,” the coach began, as reported by L’Equipe, “it’s as simple as that.

“Our fans will be behind us, we need to repay them and to make them proud. For us it’s a match like any other, but it’s important to please our supporters because it’s a big rivalry for us.

“Last season, Rennes gave us a beating at home, but the players know and they appreciate it. I hope there will be some good play and a good spectacle.”

Nantes head into this one in ninth on 39 points, but Rennes (in eleventh on 38 points) could overtake them with a win.
