Not only that, but he think Villa’s Fabian Delph can be at the heart of their success.

“Roy [Hodgson] loves [Delph]. I spoke to Roy about him. I like him to go forward. He’s got the ability to drop his shoulder and go past people,” said Sherwood. “He needs to use it – I wouldn’t want him to do that to me”, he told the Daily Mirror.

“Some players you don’t mind playing against and then there’s others, like Paul Gascoigne, who can put you on your backside. He will face you up and want to make you look stupid”.

Later in the interview he went on the claim that Hodgson’s flops, who failed to win a game at the World Cup last summer, could win France 2016 in 18 months. “Roy will stumble across a team that will win the Euros” he said. “He will, I tell you”.
