Manuel Pellegrini will know he somehow needs to rescue Manchester City’s season following their midweek Champions League exits and an ever perilous looking second place in the Premier League.
West Brom, meanwhile, are sitting 13th in a rather cushy looking position but one that could easily turn against them if they’re not careful in the last nine Premier League fixtures.
They’ll want as many fixtures as possible between now and the end of the season to ensure an easy finish to the campaign.
After a number of changes against Barcelona, the likes of Zabaleta, Clichy and Dzeko will all be looking for a recall to the City side.
Albion however will have to contend with the absence of Ben Foster who could be out for a month with cartilage damage to his knee but Boaz Myhill is the presume replacement.
Chris Brunt will be out after being given a one-match ban whilst Claudio Yacob returns from suspension.
City have won their six league meeting with West Brom but have yet to face them under the tutorship of Tony Pulis.
They should beat them with the game being played at the Etihad, but when has that stopped City from throwing in an unexpected defeat that has somehow been snatched from the jaws of victory before?
