Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has apologised to his fans after getting himself needlessly sent off against Man United as the Reds were defeated 2-1 at Anfield.

In what was a crucial encounter for Liverpool’s top four hopes, their most reliable player of the years saw red, in more ways than one, 45 seconds after coming on.
