Dodgy deals!? Manchester United leave £585k a week worth of signings on the bench for Liverpool clash

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal left four of his highest paid signings on the bench for the the Red Devils’ encounter with Liverpool on Sunday, reports the Metro.

The Mancunian side went on to win the match, but this still seems to be a sad indictment of their transfer business over the last 12 months.

Victor Valdes, Angel Di Maria, Marcos Rojo, and Radamel Falcao were the players to be left among the substitutes.

While it is understandable that Valdes was left out for David De Gea and Rojo was returning from an injury, Di Maria and Falcao have definitely cast some doubts over the wisdom of their respective purchases.

Overall the four take home £585,000 a week in wages, and could make the Old Trafford hierarchy think again before making any more big name signings in the summer.
