Manchester City’s hierarchy are reportedly set to back Manuel Pellegrini, despite rumours he will lose his job after a season without a trophy, with a huge war-chest as they look to bounce back from a poor campaign.

The Italian giants are unlikely to want to sell their prize asset, but it’s entirely possible their heads would be turned by such a huge bid, which would dwarf the £85 million Real Madrid paid Tottenham for Gareth Bale.

Any potential move is likely to infuriate Manchester United fans as the midfielder decided to give up on the Old Trafford club after feeling undervalued by former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Since ditching the Red Devils, Pogba has gone on to vindicate his decision by becoming one of the most feared midfielders in world football, playing a key role in back to back Serie A title triumphs for Juventus since moving to Turin in 2012.
