Carrasco was in superb form at the Emirates Stadium during Monaco’s incredible 3-1 upset victory in the Champions League last 16 first leg. The winger scored on 15 minutes – setting the tone for a contest that would ultimately cost the North Londoners dearly.

He has also been in fine fettle in Ligue 1, scoring four goals and contributing six assists so far this term.

However, his fine showing in Europe may come at a cost to Leonardo Jardim’s side, with Wenger taken by the Belgian, according to the Metro.

It is believed that the experienced manager will watch the Under-21 international until the season’s end before looking to close a deal with Monaco during the summer.
