Approaching the final weeks of the season, the Monegasques sit in fourth place. They are four points behind Olympique de Marseille in third and six behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

The Club of the Principality do, however, have a game in hand. If they can win that outstanding fixture—against Montpellier Herault Sport Club—then they will set up a photo finish to the Ligue 1 campaign.

Valere Germain has indicated that Monaco are keeping their feet on the ground and prospering with their underdog status.

“It’s going to be a crazy couple of months with the Champions League and Ligue 1,” Germain began, speaking to Monaco’s official website.

“Bearing in mind the priority is for us to ensure we qualify for the Champions League again next season. “We’re going about our business quietly, nobody’s expecting anything from us. If we’re three points off the leaders with just a few matches left, then we can start dreaming.

“But for now,” he concluded, “we’re focused on securing Champions League football.”

The 24-year-old has featured 24 times for Leonardo Jardim’s side in Ligue 1 so far this season, but the majority of those appearances have come from the bench. His contribution has been minimal, and he has managed only two goals and one assist so far this term.
