The Gunners have long been linked with a move for a new signing in the middle of the park, with Wanyama’s Saints team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin reported by the Daily Star to have already agreed terms on a summer move to the Emirates Stadium back in February.

Still, Wanyama has impressed Arsenal and could be the subject of a £20m bid, with Tottenham Hotspur also mentioned as contenders to sign the Kenyan international, who was brought to the club by former manager Mauricio Pochettino, now in charge at White Hart Lane.

Mitrovic is another player on Arsene Wenger’s radar this summer after some impressive displays in Belgium, with the 20-year-old compared to Chelsea star Didier Drogba in his style of play.

Arsenal are ready to pay around £10m to sign the Serbian international, having scouted him for some time.
